Apply for a Scholarship
Thank you for your interest in applying for a university scholarship from the Middle East Children’s Alliance. We are not accepting new scholarship applications this year. Please check back in April 2018.
The Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) administers three scholarship funds for Palestinian university students in the West Bank and Gaza. All of the funds use the same application form. Please send an email with any questions.
Guidelines for applying for an Elly Jaensch Memorial Scholarship and Ramzy Halaby Education Fund:
Scholarship recipients shall be Palestinians living in the West Bank or Gaza Strip studying at a university or college in the West Bank or Gaza Strip.
Only complete application packages will be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances, explained in writing and submitted as part of the application.
Applications will be rated based on 1) financial need, 2) prior academic achievement, and 3) commitment to giving back to your community. Priority will be given to prior recipients, women, and refugees.
Applicants with grade point averages below 75% or the equivalent will generally not be competitive unless the reason for the lower grade point average is an extenuating circumstance, explained in writing and submitted as part of the application.
Guidelines for applying for a Mary Bisharat Memorial Scholarship:
Scholarship recipients shall be Palestinian students residing the in Bethlehem Governate and/or studying at a university in the Bethlehem Governate.
The Mary Bisharat Memorial Scholarships are supported by SacramentoBethlehem Sister City. Students who are residents of the governate of Bethlehem are eligible to apply. The scholarships are part of SacramentoBethlehem Sister City’s mission to share the stories of the people of Palestine with the people of Sacramento, so students are encouraged to share photos and updates about their lives during the year.
Guidelines for apply for a Friends of Deir Ibzia Scholarship
Friends of Deir Ibzia provides scholarships for students in the village of Deir Ibzia with demonstrated financial need.
PLEASE NOTE: We regret that we no longer provide scholarships to students at the Islamic University in Gaza due to the increase in fees for any students receiving scholarships.
